Best Rooftop Bars in Milan

Milan is not New York — its skyline is small, mostly Gothic and (since 2014) made of three new glass towers in Porta Nuova. But the rooftop scene is excellent: a 1928 Duomo on one side, a 230 m Unicredit Tower on the other, and the Alps on a clear day. Here are the ten best rooftops in 2026, with what to order, what to wear and when to book.

The shortlist

| Rooftop | View | Vibe | Cost | |---|---|---|---| | Terrazza Aperol | Duomo | Touristy | €14 | | Rinascente Terrace | Duomo | Easy | €12 | | Ceresio 7 | Skyscrapers | Glam | €18 | | Radio Rooftop (ME Milan) | 360° | Polished | €18 | | Hyatt Centric Terrazza Gallia | Centrale | Grown-up | €18 | | Tenoha Rooftop | Industrial | Cool | €14 | | Octavius / Mandarin | Brera | Hotel | €20 | | Bulgari Lounge | Brera garden | Discreet | €22 | | Highline | Garibaldi | Sunset crowd | €15 | | Triennale Terrazza | Park, Duomo | Casual | €12 |

1. Terrazza Aperol — orange spritz, Duomo at eye level

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II — Duomo metro

Right above the Galleria, almost touching the Duomo. The whole bar is Aperol-branded, the drinks are exactly what you'd guess (€14 Spritz), but the Duomo view is unmatched at sunset. Lines after 18:00 in summer — go at 17:30 or after 21:00.

2. Rinascente Terrace — easiest cathedral view

Piazza del Duomo 4 — 7th floor of Rinascente

Take Rinascente's escalators up seven floors to a free, casual terrace level with two bars, a cafe and a Maio restaurant. Cathedral statues at arm's length. No booking, no entry fee. €10–14 cocktails. Great rainy-afternoon pivot (see things to do in Milan when it rains).

3. Ceresio 7 — the city's most photographed rooftop

Via Ceresio 7 — Garibaldi metro

Owned by DSquared2, perched above the brand's HQ in an old Enel building. Two pools, two bars, view over the Unicredit Tower and Bosco Verticale. €18 cocktails, dress like you mean it (no shorts). Book ahead in summer.

4. Radio Rooftop — 360° over Milan

ME Milan Il Duca — Garibaldi metro

13th-floor wraparound terrace at the ME hotel. The view rotates around you as you walk the bar. €18 cocktails, music gets clubby after 23:00.

5. Hyatt Centric — Terrazza Gallia (over Milano Centrale)

Piazza Duca d'Aosta 9 — Centrale metro

A rooftop directly across from Milano Centrale's facade. Polished, grown-up, less obvious than Ceresio or Terrazza Aperol. Great pre-train drink if you've planned a leisurely departure. Ideal location for guests near Centrale — see best areas to stay in Milan.

6. Tenoha Rooftop — industrial Isola cool

Via Vittor Pisani 17 / new branch Via Stilicone — Isola

Tenoha's Japanese-inflected cocktail bar on a low rooftop in Isola. More cool than glam, no view of the cathedral but you see the Bosco Verticale across the street. €12–14 cocktails, excellent gyoza.

7. Octavius Bar — Mandarin Oriental rooftop garden

Via Andegari 9 — Brera

Less a rooftop than a courtyard garden, but it counts: tucked behind the Mandarin Oriental's hotel building in Brera. The best Negroni in Milan (debated, but in the conversation). €18–22, jacket suggested.

8. Bulgari Bar / Lounge — the most discreet drink in the city

Via Privata Fratelli Gabba 7B — Brera

Behind the Bulgari Hotel, opening onto a private garden between the Botanical Gardens and the Pinacoteca di Brera. Quiet, expensive (€22), perfect for a first date or a quiet conversation. No skyline — that's the point.

9. Highline Garibaldi — sunset for the under-30s

Galleria Manzoni / different pop-ups — Garibaldi metro

A few rooftop venues operate on the Garibaldi side in season (April–October). Younger crowd, DJs, €12–15 drinks, view of Bosco Verticale at golden hour.

10. Triennale Terrazza — design-museum sunset

Triennale Milano, Parco Sempione — Cadorna metro

Casual rooftop terrace above Italy's design museum, opening onto Parco Sempione with the Duomo in the distance. Cocktails €12, kitchen until 22:00, no dress code. Lovely on a clear evening.
